Ma. Jerzy Aprille D. Torres

Ms. Torres handles litigation, labor, alternative dispute resolution, taxation, and immigration cases as a Partner at the firm. Her experiences has made her one of the best practicing lawyers in labor law. Among her achievements include successfully defending a public utility company against a Php150 million claim with Philippine Labor authorities and facilitating the compliance of one of the Philippines’ largest dining restaurant chains with new labor regulations of the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment in order to avoid millions of pesos in administrative sanctions. As a veteran litigator, Ms. Torres has won cases before arbitral tribunals, including a USD1.6 billion claim.

Ms. Torres is also a legal consultant/advisor at the House of Representatives, and a Senior Lecturer since 2012 for Obligations and Contracts, Labor, Taxation and Negotiable Instruments Law, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure. She is an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb), and the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI).

Ms. Torres graduated from the San Beda College of Law in March 2014 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in April 2015. She holds an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Economics at the University of Santo Tomas (UST). In college, she was the President of the UST Economics Society (UST EcoSoc) and was one of UST’s Most Outstanding Commerce graduates, being a consistent Dean’s Lister.
