Ms. Torres is a Senior Associate at the Firm who handles litigation, labor, alternative dispute resolution, taxation, and immigration cases. With labor law as among her fields of expertise, she has successfully defended a public utility against a Php150 million claim with the Philippine Labor authorities. She also facilitated the compliance of one of the Philippines’ largest dining restaurant chains with new labor regulations of the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment, avoiding millions in administrative sanctions.
She is an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb), and is an active arbitrator with the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI). She is part of the Firm’s arbitration team that advocated a claim worth approximately $1.6 billion before an international tribunal.
Other than practicing law, Ms. Torres is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Business Administration of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina where she has been teaching Obligations and Contracts, Labor, Taxation and Negotiable Instruments Law, since 2012.
Ms. Torres graduated from the San Beda College of Law in March 2014 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in April 2015. She holds an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Economics at the University of Santo Tomas (UST). In college, she was the President of the UST Economics Society (UST EcoSoc) and was one of UST’s Most Outstanding Commerce graduates, being a consistent Dean’s Lister.
