Ty moderated a discussion entitled “Navigating the M&A Regulatory Landscape”, which fleshed out issues and challenges in M&A from the perspective of three (3) of the most relevant regulatory bodies to M&A – the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC). They were joined by top officials from each agency namely, Commissioner Ephyro Luis B. Amatong (SEC), OIC-Assistant Commissioner Larry M. Barcelo (BIR), and the Director of the Mergers and Acquisitions Office, Krystal Lyn T. Uy (PCC).
The panel also discussed the salient changes in the regulatory framework brought by the Revised Corporation Code, the TRAIN Law, and some of the recent decisions of the Philippine Competition Commission.
