Firm Announcement – Promotion of Darwin P. Angeles

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Darwin P. Angeles to Partner.

Atty. Angeles has over seven years of experience in dispute resolution and intellectual property.  His noted representations include successfully prosecuting a multi-billion-peso investor-state arbitral claim; a Writ of Habeas Data claim to vindicate the right to privacy and reputation of an incumbent member of the House of Representatives; as well as representing Retired Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio, Retired Justice and Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales and faculty members of the UP College of Law in their challenge against the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020. He acts as counsel for Nobel Laureate Maria A. Ressa.

Atty. Angeles is Monitor of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department where he specializes in securing patent protection for computer-implemented technology and litigating technical intellectual property issues. He has won patent cancellation cases for lack of inventive step. Most recently, he successfully defended a pharmaceutical company from a multimillion-dollar patent suit. He also maintains trademark portfolios of various companies including a national transportation company and one of the country’s largest Banks.
