Cherith Inna D. Montero

Ms. Montero’s expertise spans various legal areas including taxation, intellectual property, special projects, and corporate services. She is currently part of the Corporate, Securities, and Finance Group.

The significant projects and transactions Ms. Montero has contributed to include the following:

• Energy Sector – She is part of the team providing technical advisory to an intergovernmental organization on early coal phaseout in the Philippines and Southeast Asia;
• Securitization Innovation – She is part of the team which provided counsel to a government mortgage finance corporation on an asset-back securities issuance with a transaction value of approximately Php550 Million Pesos.
• Securitization Innovation – She is part of the team currently acting as tax and transaction counsel to a government mortgage finance corporation on an asset-back securities issuance with a transaction value of approximately Php1.3 Billion.
• PPP for Regional Infrastructure – She is part of the team currently advising on a flagship PPP initiative exceeding Php20 Billion involving multiple government agencies for regional development.
• Financial Advisory – She is part of the team which serves as counsel to an international investment manager on a loan extended to a Philippine financing corporation with a transaction value of approximately Php4.5 Billion.

Ms. Montero’s passion for practical legal experience led her to undertake internships at institutions such as the UP Office of Legal Aid and the Office of the Solicitor General. She contributed as a Hearing Committee member for the UP Office of Anti-Sexual Harassment, demonstrating her dedication to fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

She earned her law degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2021 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2022. She also holds Bachelor of Science in Community Development from the University of the Philippines College of Social Work and Community Development.
